Success defined is an accomplishment of an aim or purpose. What that accomplishment is can only be defined by you. Therefore, you and I may have two very different versions of what a successful life looks like...and that's perfectly perfect. It's what makes the world go around.
However, the steps to achieving success and thriving at life may be very similar. One thing's for sure, you have to take action to get the successful life you want. So, kudos to you for deciding to check out this article about the traits of successful people and what they do to thrive at life. It leads perfectly into the very first trait:
1. Choose it
It's that simple. Successful people (however you define success) simply make the conscious choice to be successful in what they want to achieve and explore all the avenues to get there. Now that doesn't mean they'll achieve the exact results every time...but they go for it anyway. Doing nothing will keep you stagnant, but choosing to live a successful life will take you down various roads, keeping life exciting and keep you in a constant flow of learning.
A vision of what they want out of life is embodied in everything they think, say and do. Anything that interrupts the vision and the feeling associated with that vision is removed. Simplicity is appreciated in their surroundings, and "energetic" space is created for what they want to welcome and achieve.
They remove the "need" for material things and wrap their energy more into the meaning of life and what they want out of it...gaining even more clarity about what they want to experience and even how to achieve it. Simplicity comes in what they wear...even what they eat. They remove the mindless day-to-day time wasters and put them into routine "no-brainers" so that more time can be invested in what they want to achieve.
4. Follow Through
Successful people thrive because they leave nothing incomplete nor unfinished.
"How you to anything, is how you do everything." ~T. Harv Eker
Successful people know that success in anything means experiencing success in the smaller things, too. Any unfinished business spills over to others areas of life. So, whatever success you want to experience in big ways, then experience it now in smaller ways.
5. Understand people
According to Harvey Deutschendorf article, 7 Signs You're Highly Emotionally Intelligent, successful people thriving at life are emotionally intelligent and understand the importance of setting boundaries and being assertive when necessary with the people who drain their energy. They also know the importance of surrounding themselves with positive people who support and lift them up.
6. Self Care
They value time as the valuable resource that it is and that includes carving out time for self love and care. They're naturally early risers, taking advantage of alone time to hear their inner guidance and welcome inspiration (meditation). They eat well to keep themselves healthy and able to do what they need to do to achieve the things they want to achieve. They rest and recuperate so they can do more for the long haul.
7. Daily Application
The traits that successful people have keep them in the flow, creating and building the energy of momentum, taking them where they want to go...where they MUST go. Their traits are embedded in who they are and therefore rarely feel the need (if ever) to take a break from them. They live an inspired life. They know their contribution to the world and that is meaningful to them. They are these traits and view them as a personal responsibility to continue thriving at life.
